Shoes made based on a find from Hedeby, dated to the 10th-11th century.
The shoes were entirely handmade using the turnshoe method. The vamp is made of cowhide leather approximately 3 mm thick, and the sole is about 5 mm thick. All external seams were stitched with waxed linen thread. The shoes are tied with a leather thong, and for increased durability, a leather heel counter was sewn in.
